Curtain Size Guide

Proper measurements are essential to achieve a tailored, luxurious drape. At Belle Cose Home, we produce all custom curtains using double fullness — meaning the total fabric width is always double the width of your curtain rod or track. This ensures a rich, elegant look with beautiful folds.

Follow this step-by-step guide to get accurate measurements based on your heading style and installation type.

1. How to Measure Curtain Width

Start by measuring the total width of your curtain rod or track. Do not measure the window frame — always measure the hardware width. We automatically apply double fullness when producing your curtains, so you don’t need to double it yourself.

For example: If your rod width is 200 cm, we will make curtains using 400 cm of fabric, distributed across the number of panels you choose.

If you prefer two panels, each panel will be 200 cm wide (before pleating).

2. How to Measure Curtain Height (Drop)

The curtain height depends on the heading style. Here's how to measure based on what you choose:

  • Wave / Eyelet / Back Tab: Measure from the top of the rod or glider to your desired length.
  • Pencil / Pinch Pleat: Measure from the bottom of the ring or hook (not from the top of the pole).

We recommend floor-length curtains for a modern and polished look. You can also choose “puddled” if you want extra drape on the floor, or “hover” length for just above the ground.

3. Tips for a Perfect Fit

  • Always measure with a metal tape measure. Cloth tapes may stretch and result in inaccurate dimensions.
  • Measure in centimeters (cm) for the most precise results. Round up to the nearest whole number.
  • Make sure your rod or track is installed before measuring drop length.
  • We produce seamless panels — no joins even on wide curtains, unless stated otherwise.
